No time or money for a manicure? I have a solution for you! Have you seen the Impress Nails yet? I’ve passed by these so many times in the drugstore wondering if they actually worked. Maybe you’re wondering how long Impress press on nails last and if they are worth it? Scroll down for my Impress Nails review!
I’ve heard talk of them on social media recently so I decided to take the leap and try them. For about $6 I thought it was worth the try!
I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome! I thought they looked amazing. I absolutely loved the color.
They are sooooo easy to put on.
I have used fake nails in the past for special occasions. If you have, you know how much of a pain it is to glue each nail one.
The nice thing about these is that you just have to press them on! NO glue required.
These fit in perfectly with my lifestyle. I don’ t have a lot of time to sit and paint my nails and let them dry. The only time I have is later at night when the kids are sleeping and most of the time I’m just not interested in painting my nails that late!
This was so easy to do and took no time.
So here’s the nails I chose. I love the neutral look of these. They have a matte finish. I didn’t use the sparkly nails, but a lot of them seem to come with a different type of nail finish if you want to change things up.
How To Use Impress Nails.
- Plan out which nails fit yours. They say to size down rather than up if you can’t find one that fits exactly. As I found each one that fit I would lay them all out in front of me.
- Next, wash your hands and then use the cleaning wipe that is provided and wipe down each nail bed. A friend gave me a tip and said that you should also clean your fingers with alcohol as well. It will help the adhesive really stick to the nail. If you have anything on your nail bed then it will prevent the adhesive from sticking and they won’t stay on as long.
- You can also push back your cuticle a bit and kind of tuck the nail in it to help it stay. I think this also helps make it look very natural.
- Apply the nails by peeling back the tab. Press and hold in the center and then press the edges. The firmer you press, the better they will stick!
- You can file the nails, but you have to wait at least an hour after applying. I didn’t know this beforehand either! I think I would have gotten more use out of them if I had waited at least an hour.
- You are also able to cut them! I was afraid to, but I tried and it stayed on fine and then I filed the nail down smooth.
- All Done!

How Long Do Impress Press on Nails Last?
These nails can last anywhere from a week to 2 weeks. I’ve even heard that some have lasted 3 weeks!
I only got a week out of them, BUT I didn’t clean my nails with alcohol before applying. So don’t skip that step!
Make sure you don’t file them immediately either. I made that mistake as well. I was in a rush and had no choice but to file them a bit right away. Next time I will apply these at night so I can wait a little longer before filing.
Note that the box says to only keep them on a week though. I’m sure that is there for precautionary reasons so you don’t get a fungus.
Benefits of Impress Manicure Nails:
- Saves you money if you can’t afford a manicure and want nice nails
- If you are the type that gets a manicure and two days later your nails chip these are for you!
- If you don’t have time to go to the salon then these are a great alternative. I can’t tell you how many times I had somewhere to go last minute wishing I had nice nails. Keep these on hand for emergencies.
- These are so easy to use. Gone are the days of using glue. Just peel and stick!
- They look awesome!
- They are not hard to remove at all. It comes with a tiny toothpick to help you peel away the nail.
If you’re wondering if these nails are waterproof, they are! You can shower with them, wash dishes and swim with them on.
Cons Of Impress Manicure Press on Nails:
The only downfall I could find with these nails is that as they started to loosen around the edges my hair started to get caught in the nails. Other than that there were no issues with them. This happened later in the week. I think pushing back your cuticle and tucking the nails in a bit will help with that problem.
In addition, a reader(thanks Cassandra!) commented that some nail glue can also help give you a little extra staying power if the ends start to loosen. Glue is linked below with the nails.

I am 70 years old and had my nails done at a salon for many years and the chemicals eventually ruined my nails. I use impress nails and love them. I get compliments all the time. People can’t believe they are press on nails. My only regret is that I told so many people about them that they were sold out of the style I wanted at the store. So now I buy them online direct from impress.
Hi Janet, Sorry to hear that the chemicals ruined your nails! So happy to hear that you love the Impress Nails too. They really do look amazing. I can’t find the set I like right now either that I got at my local Rite Aid. I buy all mine online now. Thanks so much for the comment!
When they start to loosen I have found that a dot of nail glue will hold those nails until your ready to take them off. I usually get 7-9 days wear.
Hi Cassandra, That’s a good idea to have some nail glue on hand just for touch-ups if necessary. I may give that a try to extend the wear time. Thanks so much for the tip!
