Over the past few months, I’ve been using some new hair products that I’m excited to tell you about! You may have already heard of Vegamour, as some of their products have gone viral on social media. When they reached out to me I jumped at the chance and couldn’t wait to try their hair care line!!
Vegamour is known for its commitment to clean beauty and it’s holistic approach to hair care.
The brand emphasizes using natural, plant-based ingredients and avoiding harmful chemicals that we find in most of our conventional hair care products. Vegamour’s products are free from sulfates, parabens, silicones, phthalates, and other potentially harmful additives.
Additionally, their products are cruelty-free and vegan, meaning they are not tested on animals and do not contain any animal-derived ingredients.
My Honest Review of the HYDR-8 Shampoo and Conditioner:
I was given over 2 months to test out the HYDR-8 Hair Care Line and give an honest review. I love that Vegmour is confident in their products and gave me the opportunity to see how my hair looked over time.
I’m really excited to say that I couldn’t be happier with the results!!
I have very thick, dry and brittle hair. Many years of coloring and heating my hair has contributed to it’s dryness. In addition, I have naturally wavy and coarse hair. Keeping this in consideration, Vegamour suggested I give their HYDR-8 Shampoo and Conditioner a try.
Their HYDR-8 hair care products will lock in moisture, smooth frizz, and bring life back to lackluster hair.
The formula uses a vegan keratin alternative called Karmatin, which helps eliminate frizz and keep strands smooth. It also contains amino acids, marula oil, morning seed oil and murumuru butter. These ingredients work together to nourish and strengthen your hair.
The shampoo makes my hair squeaky clean AND I absolutely love that it lathers!!! I don’t know about you, but I feel like so often with other clean products they are not easy to work through wet hair because they don’t lather!! This shampoo does! It does an amazing job of removing all the product buildup from my hair.
The conditioner is very creamy and thick which I love. Thin conditioners just don’t work for me and I end up having to use extra product. The HYDR-8 conditioner has a nice consistency. I apply about a quarter amount of conditioner and rinse after 2 minutes to give it extra time to absorb.
The combination of the shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair so soft and shiny! While my hair feels soft, it’s not lifeless. It still retains enough texture so that it will still hold a curl!
If you have color treated hair, you are safe using these products. HYDR-8 Shampoo and Conditioner DO NOT have harsh sulfates or chemicals that would normally strip your hair of its color.

HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil
After I’m done washing my hair, I comb through as usual and use the HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil… I think this may be my favorite product of everything I received!
This is a weightless oil that is good for all hair types including fine or thin hair.
The repair oil is so light! I have tried countless oils and creams over the years to tame my frizzy hair. This leaves my hair smooth and shiny. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy nor does it feel heavy and weighed down. It’s formulated to strengthen hair and smooth split ends.
I’ve been applying the serum on both damp and dry hair. I apply the oil to my hair after washing, serving as a heat protectant before blow drying.
After blow-drying and styling with a curling iron, I apply a tiny bit of oil, mostly concentrating on my ends, I gently apply whatever remains on my hands to the rest of my hair, avoiding the scalp.
It works so well!!

HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Repair Mask
The HYDR-8 moisture mask leaves my hair extra full and bouncy. I use a quarter size amount in place of my conditioner. I leave on for 3-5 minutes and rinse.
Sometimes masks can leave your hair feeling heavy and unmanageable. This mask leaves my hair full and lush without feeling heavy or lifeless.
I’ve been using the mask every 2 weeks, but will switch to once a week in the summer. Between the sun and the chlorine, my hair will be extra dry and in need of TLC.
This mask adds so much moisture to my hair. I got caught in the rain the other day for a few hours watching my son’s baseball game and my hair did not look like a lion’s mane! It was a miracle! Haha..
While it will never be 100% frizz free in high humidity, this is the best it’s ever looked! My hair still looked smooth and healthy the next day. I didn’t need to wash it again after being out in the rain. That never happens!!! So I attribute that to the HYDR-8 mask I used before 🙂
I also want to mention that these products are free of synthetic fragrances and are all scented with essential oils. I think the scent is incredible!! My whole bathroom smells like a salon after I’m done with my hair routine. My family loves the scent too! That is an extra bonus for me on hair-washing days and gives me a little mood boost 🙂
As for how often to wash your hair with these products, that would be a personal decision based on your hair texture. I can go about 5 days without washing because my hair does not get oily. So typically I’m washing once a week, sometimes twice a week.
I would definitely recommend these Vegamour hair products for two reasons….
First, I love how my hair looks and feels……
After a little over two months of use, I’m honestly so happy with the results and really impressed with how healthy my hair looks. I feel like my hair looks so full and just has a lot of bounce and body to it. It looks overall healthier! All the above pictures of me were taken throughout the past few months. I thought it was important to share how it’s looked throughout the process of using it 🙂
Secondly, I feel good about what I’m putting on my hair. I love that Vegamour’s products are clean and that they are truly concerned about eliminating harmful toxins in our hair care products. It’s important to be mindful of the beauty products we use because our skin absorbs them.
I have been trying to incorporate as many clean beauty products as I can. While I may not be able to do that for everything (it does get costly!), I feel that Vegamour lines up cost-wise with other brands that are using harmful ingredients.. I think the price point is excellent, especially considering the products are non-toxic.
